Section 5: Create a Bible Study Schedule
Get started as you prepare for bible study
- Start the Night
Before: If your life is a whirlwind of activities – one after the other - start the night before to prepare
for bible study. Put everything in place and gather all the
necessary tools, to avoid becoming flustered while rushing the next day. You
never know, last minute emergencies may pop up, so safe guard your time and
prepare for bible study a head of time.
- Do bible study at
your peek moments:
Do not try to have a bible study when you are exhausted, it
will not work! Rest is not the enemy - it is our friend. Imagine opening your bible to study and then
waking up the next day with your face stuck to the pages :). Lack of sleep will
actually work against you in bible study. You have to be wide-awake.
You know the time of the day when you are pumped and alive!
That may be nights, mornings or even mid days. Try to have your session around
your these peek times to stay alive and in the moment.
Keeping Your Hunger For God in Check
- Find a Role Model: Someone you can look up to,
that possess the attributes of Christ that you desire to have. Fostering a relationship
with them can be just the encouragement you need to keep that desire burning
- Stay away from Negativity: surround yourself
with positive thinkers
- Your friends must include persons that have what
you need, and are where you want to be in Christ. This will cut your learning
curve in half since you can simply ask them for advice if you have difficulty
in any specific area.
