devotions on trusting god

For I know the thoughts I think toward you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end" Jeremiah 29:11

Hey girl,

A normal person could not endure what Joseph went through

"Just the loss of my mother was enough for me to flip out! For months I relived the traumatic experience she endured at the final moments of her life, over and over again. For days I stayed curled under a blanket in my living room, trying to make the nightmare disappear - but it never did - my mom was really gone. And I was left here all alone. It was a difficult time, but God gave me unexplainable strength. I felt his comfort, even through my weakest moments."

For Day 2, Here's what you'll get:

Part 2: This is not Normal!

Now, a normal person could not endure all that Joseph experienced unless God kept him. Have you ever been through a situation that - looking back - you had no clue how or why you did not lose your grip on reality?

Tell me all about it, by replying to this post”

I have.

My husband - who was my boyfriend at the time - called me out of my office one day, to reveal that he just got fired from his job. From the look on his face, I knew that he was worried and uncertain. What was he going to do, now? What was the next step to take?

He still had his monthly obligations to meet, but his financial line was cut off.

The next few years were an uphill battle, but in moments of desperation, it unlocked inner creativity and determination that led him to create his own business!

God knew that if it was left up to him, he would have been too afraid to make the leap for himself, so God pulled the proverbial rug from under his feet. And now, it has been 14 years, and it is clear that being let go that fateful day was all for his good. He is now the proud owner of his own business.

You know, sometimes when we are right in a situation, we cannot see farther than our arm can stretch. Sometimes, God has to remove us from that situation, as he did to Abraham and Joseph, and take us on a long journey to a mountain top, so that we can see the expanse of land that is ours!

There is an inner strength that holds you and I firm, even in the worst times. There is a well of water that opens up and the Word keeps pouring out from the inside of you, giving you hope and reassurance, even when your heart is broken into pieces. That inner strength is God. The Strong One!

In his most intense time of trial, Joseph did the one thing that has blessed my heart mightily: He kept his integrity.

He remained strong and honest: he kept strong morals and was upright every step of the way.

My friend, you can trust God even if it seems like there are little sunny days ahead. God is holding you together, right now, even when everything around you seems to be going insane. This might be the hardest thing you ever have to go through - but as Joseph did, make sure to keep your integrity. If God brought you to this test, he is going to bring you out with a testimony.

Believe that!

Devotional on trusting God: "There is a Reason!"

How can any of this work for good? It's hard to see the Sometimes it's only at the end of our journey that we finally see the BIG PICTURE! More in the next lesson.
