I've asked this question myself.
When I was very young, I suffered from tonsillitis. Almost every 3 to 6 months, like clockwork the symptoms came ( swollen tonsils, bad feeling in my body, flu symptoms, and my face always felt hot for some odd reason).
My mom would take me to the doctor or buy Histal DM and after few days I was back to normal. At first I accepted it as "a part of life" but when I became a Christian I realized that this sickness was keeping me from attending services, and doing all that I wanted for Christ.
It seriously was becoming a tool.
Yet the sickness continued and I wondered the same thing "Why am I not being healed" "does God want to heal me?"
I remember praying about my healing constantly. Then it happened. Months went by with no symptoms. Then years went by with no symptoms. Now it has been about 12 to 13 years since my last episode.
So does God want you healed?
God is so concerned about our health that he made sure to incorporate it into his master plan right from the ‘get go’.
This lesson will outline not only God’s plan of healing but also present a powerful Health Principle that every one of us should employ beginning TODAY!
At the beginning when God created man, he had it all thought out. I mean every single aspect of our survival was carefully orchestrated. He left nothing to chance.
At the end of the process, he even made sure to provide each of us with our own military base, to fight off any harmful intruders from entering our bodies. In a nutshell, that is how important our health is in God’s eyes.
God’s whole plan was for us to live totally healed and pain free; to exist and bask in complete healing, with no worries, sicknesses or ailments.
So let's unravel the scriptures to see God’s original intent:
After Adam was carefully formed, then Genesis 2: 7 says:
‘…..and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.’
about this for just one moment. God himself breathed into man. A God
breathed a portion of himself into man. So of course, like everything else that came out of God, we were created to live forever.
Then God placed Adam to live in an area that was complete with all that was necessary for his endurance.
Like a mother making preparation for her new born child; everything … the best of the best …was already set for Adam’s arrival.
What intrigued me the most is the items that was in the Garden of Eden:
Genesis Chapter 2: 9
‘Out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life, also was in the midst of the garden …’
Your mouth begins to water, just simply looking at that yummy plate of food.
You can even go to great lengths just to put that food in your mouth all because it was ‘pleasant to our eyes’ and our senses.
Now flip the switch -
Have you ever watched or sniffed a meal that was awful? - Lol – Well, I have.
Have mercy on me but I am telling the truth right here. I am a person that loves to experiment in the kitchen and some of my 'experiments' goes drastically wrong!
Not even my hubby wants to eat them because they neither look nor smell right!
Nothing could make him put any in his mouth. ( I would have to hold him down and force feed him, lol ) Just one look - and all of a sudden - no appetite. lol
This is exactly what God did NOT want.
In Genesis 2:9 God introduces a very powerful Health Principle:
"God caused to grow out of the ground, not any kind of tree, ‘but trees that was good for food"
He made certain that everything that was eaten by Adam will not do harm to his body, but instead, do good.
This Health Principle is like the ten commandments of principles. It is the foundation for every other health measure that can ever be instituted.
God ensured that anything and everything that Adam ate was not only good to look at but most importantly ‘good for food’.
In today’s world, everything that is available for us to eat, is actually NOT always ‘good for food’.
In an effort to feed the world’s population, man has invented some "brilliant" ideas that can be very harmful to the body when consumed.
I would have thought what God did was the end of it, but God took it one step further.
He went ahead and did the ultimate thing… He gave Adam the Tree of Life and He placed it in the midst of the garden!
You don’t get my excitement, do you? Don’t worry, you will.Genesis 2: 8,9; 16 - 17 says:
This then means that Adam was given free access by God to eat of the ‘tree of life’ He could eat its fruit and the leaves was for his healing.
So, let me put it this way …
Just in case, (which was highly unlikely), that Adam ever came down with the ‘sniffles’ he had free access to the leaves of the tree for his healing. God made provision even for that situation.
The trees in the garden were for his nourishment, and the tree of life for him to be healed and of course stay healed.
That’s why I can make the bold statement that ‘GOD DOES WANT US TO BE COMPLETELY HEALED’
You sure can't be wondering any longer 'does God want to heal me'.
He had it all in the plan!
You see, who better to give God the highest praise that someone who have been delivered?
Your personal testimony will touch the lives of so many and turn them to Christ as well. So, God wants you to heal you so that you can in return give him the glory!
The answer is Now.
We Are Not Too Far Away From our Healing
I hope you will consider this: ...This tree of life was placed, ‘in the midst of the garden’! Right, smack – dab, in the middle!
What does this prove? I'm glad you've asked ..
Even Mathematics, found itself in my bible study!
Once something is placed in the midst, then it is an equal distance away from any point of the circumference.
the tree in the middle was the closest spot for Adam. It was not only
placed where he could see it clearly but also where he could get to it the fastest!
In the event that Adam should need the tree of life …
It did not matter how far Adam distanced himself from the tree of life, it was still at an equal distance away from him in any area of Eden. He never had to travel too far to reach it!
God is ready to heal us, now. My brother and sisters we are not too far-gone for God to heal us. We are not too far away from the center that we cannot receive healing. No matter how far your travel, God can still reach you in your circumstance. He wants us totally sick free. So much so that he gave Adam the ultimate gift, found in the tree of life.
Healing can begin through the food we eat.
If you have made it this far in this lesson, then I am quite certain that you are serious about your health. It is not ok for us to just read, we need to take action!
Begin today, by following the Health Principle outlined in this lesson: Make certain that what you are eating is good for your nourishment and not to your detriment.
Question:Before this Bible study, did you realize that God purposefully and uniquely orchestrated everything surrounding Adam, solely for healthy living?
